Ole Meergans and Ellie Pratt
This exhibition brings together the works of London-based painter Ellie Pratt and Berlin-based sculptor Ole Meergans. While Ellie, whose body of work predominantly deals with poses and portraits, will present new works depicting cropped sections of light-flooded woodland, Ole will make a large installation citing architectural elements of Cafe Moskau, a centrepiece of Berlin's Karl-Marx-Allee, as well as elements of figurative plastic.

„At the Rostock Institute of Zoology, ticks were kept alive in captivity without eating for eighteen years. When a mammal passes under the tick’s lookout and hunting post, she drops down. It is the smell of rancid butter emanating from the animal’s coetaneous glands that guides her.“
there will be no skin, no blood, merely objects, no movement, no death, bare interior, dim light and it might be a bit dry.
I have a sinus infection, if I sound a little nasal and you can’t understand what I’m saying please excuse me.

Living in a half-empty and derelict, but grand semi-detached Victorian house close to Primrose Hill Park in North London, my housemate, Suzanne Posthumus, and I invited young artists for one-night-only exhibitions. Suzanne picked from the Goldsmith crowd, while I brought fellow Royal College of Art students. The works often reacted to the eclectic interior of the house, making use of the garden and stairwells. These shows were assembled fast, unpolished and fun, and getting only better in the rear-view mirror. You often do your best work without knowing it at the time.
